The studio

A small studio, a few projects at a time.

Studio Turkmani is a cultural production and project studio based in Oslo. We plan and run cultural events and festivals, manage projects from first idea to final report, and advise organisations working at the meeting point of culture, community and social impact. We take on a small number of engagements at a time so each one is done properly.

What we do

Three services, offered as deliverables.

Kulturproduksjon og festivaler

Cultural production & festivals

End-to-end production of cultural events and festivals: programme coordination, venue and logistics planning, volunteer structure and shifts, production schedules, and day-of operations.

  • A produced event or festival
  • A production plan and run-of-show
  • A volunteer structure
  • A post-event report
Prosjektledelse og koordinering

Project management & coordination

Managing cultural and community projects from concept to close: scope and budget, timelines, partners and suppliers, delivery, and reporting to funders and boards.

  • A project plan
  • Coordination across partners
  • Delivery of the project
  • A funder-ready final report
Rådgivning

Cultural advisory & organisational support

Helping cultural and community organisations shape their programmes, strengthen their operations, and describe their work clearly to funders and partners.

  • An advisory note or strategy
  • A funding narrative
  • A documented programme
Foredrag og fasilitering

Speaking & facilitation

Talks and facilitation on culture, community, migration and Syria — calm and specific, adapted to the audience.

  • A keynote, panel or facilitated session, at a fixed fee

Selected work

Real work, described without exaggeration.

2026Organiser & coordinator

Masahat Festival

Overall organisation and coordination of a multi-venue cultural festival in Oslo: programme coordination across venues, volunteer team leaders and shifts, production, and day-of operations, delivered on a fixed scope.

2025–26Coordinator

Masahat — cultural events

Coordination of cultural events including a stand-up comedy evening and concert programmes, from planning to delivery.

2022Language & cultural consultant

University of Bergen

Questionnaire design and data-collection facilitation on a research project. Credited in the acknowledgements of two published studies (SSM — Mental Health, 2024; Cambridge Prisms: Global Mental Health, 2025).

2019Contributor & lecturer

Cappelen Damm — Hei! B1

Contributor to the textbook Hei! B1, Norwegian language and social studies for adult immigrants, with two lectures in connection with the publication in Oslo and Trondheim.

2017–19Co-founder & leader

Skeiv Verden Vest, Bergen

Co-founder and first board leader; frikjøpt leder and later koordinator. Built the organisation to roughly 60 members and a project portfolio of about NOK 653,000, and represented it at a Storting hearing in 2018.

How a project runs

Four steps, agreed before anything starts.

Conversation

You describe the event, project or organisation. A few sentences about the context are enough to start.

A short written scope

What, when, what it costs, and what you get. One page, agreed before any work begins.

The work

Produced, managed or advised — with you kept current rather than surprised.

Hand-over

The deliverable, plus whatever a funder or a board will ask for afterwards.

Founder

Nader Turkmani

Studio Turkmani is led by Nader Turkmani, a Syrian-Norwegian cultural producer and project manager based in Oslo.

Originally from Homs, his work brings together cultural production, project management, and community and social-impact practice.

He holds a bachelor's degree in social work from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (2019–2023) and completed a year of entrepreneurship and innovation studies at OsloMet (2024–2025).

Before founding Studio Turkmani he co-founded and led a Bergen civil-society organisation, worked as a project member at Skeiv Verden nationally, taught as a substitute at Nygård School, and worked as an interpreter with ASAM, a UNHCR partner, in Turkey. That grounding in community organising continues to shape how the studio produces cultural work.
